Jim & Chris-
Just to keep you up to date-
For machining the large 4k sphere's we have one quote from our local vendor (Tapemation) that came in approx. $40,000. We had another vendor in Oregon just get back to us with a "no quote" and they said this was outside of their comfort zone.
 
I have a call into our casting vendor Wah Chang asking about who they might have dealt with for a large casting such as this and I will let you know what I find out.
